Radar (radar.com) provides mobile and web app location infrastructure to thousands of companies, from SMBs and startups to big-name enterprises.

The brand’s location-based product offerings include geofencing, geocoding, trip tracking, points-of-interest (POI) datasets, and a centralized Google Maps alternative. 

Founded in 2016 by two former Foursquare colleagues, Radar aims to leverage location services to better connect digital and physical worlds for industries ranging from retail and restaurants to travel and gaming. Their impressive roster of clients includes Panera Bread, T-Mobile, Zappos, and Whataburger. 

The Challenge:

The Radar team was interested in increasing their pipeline opportunities as well as their overall lead volume through paid search campaigns.

In the past, it had struggled with attracting quality contacts as well as the right enterprise-level businesses. Radar is in a highly competitive space, so the goal was to not only capture demand but win it as well. 

The Solution:

To attract the right technical client persona, the HawkSEM team began by updating Radar’s keyword strategy to include fewer top-of-funnel general keywords and focused more on the language of their decision-makers.

From there, we reallocated spend to longer-tail keywords and specific modifiers than the general language.

Next, we focused less on specific industries and more on the use case of the software. We veered away from audiences and display remarketing to hone in on the search keywords to test where opportunities existed.

Since Radar exists in such a competitive market with many other software companies that offer the same service, we chose to enhance our competitor strategy, landing pages, and value propositions to showcase the brand as a leader in the industry.

The Results:

While partnering with HawkSEM to enhance paid search efforts, Radar was able to: 

  • Increase pipeline opportunities by 125%
  • Grow lead volume by 68%
  • Boost paid search website traffic by 42%

CLK Supplies (clksupplies.com) works to support the locksmithing industry by providing high-quality lock and key supplies.

What started as a small local business more than a decade ago has grown into a country-spanning business. They work with more than 60 manufacturers and serving customers across the U.S. and Canada.

CLK Supplies doesn’t just set itself apart through its hands-on services and wide range of key blanks, key machines, rekeying supplies, hardware, and automotive accessories.

The team has also built a robust online learning center, featuring videos, classes, guides, and other resources to help industry professionals hone their craft.

The Challenge:

Recently, the CLK Supplies marketing team has focused on boosting the brand’s ecommerce sales. They were also looking for insights and help to push a new product they were launching, specifically through video ads. 

As their existing agency partner, they turned to us. In turn, we worked to help them craft the strategy, direction, and paid search (or PPC) campaigns to make it happen.

The Solution:

To help the CLK team meet its goals, we worked to build and launch campaigns that would garner a high return on ad spend (ROAS) and increase sales. Specifically, we leveraged Performance Max and branding campaigns.

Rachel’s Challenge (rachelschallenge.org) is a nonprofit organization focused on helping to prevent school violence, bullying, prejudice, and self-harm. They do this through live and virtual student assemblies and intervention programs that foster connection, hope, and resilience.

The nonprofit is named after Rachel Scott, a 1999 Columbine High School shooting victim. So far, Rachel’s Challenge has trained more than 30 million students, educators, and parents, saving hundreds of lives annually.

The Challenge:

Rachel’s Challenge came to us for help with their PPC (paid search) and SEO (search engine optimization) strategies. They wanted to increase the number of leads for their team and book more school assembly events. 

They also wanted to raise more funds through donations and start taking full advantage of the $10,000 monthly grant allotment in their Google Ads account. 

The Solution:

The HawkSEM team started by conducting extensive keyword and topic research for Rachel’s Challenge’s target audience. We also performed ad quality optimizations to expand the organization’s reach and increase mid to bottom-funnel traffic to their site (while being limited to the $2 max cost-per-click limitation for grant accounts).

From there, we built out a robust pillar page strategy paired with relevant blog content to build topical authority on conversion-focused, bottom-funnel content while optimizing keyword placements, interlinking, and metadata. This helped improve clickthrough rates and ad rankings on the search engine results page. 

Lastly, we created timely, industry-specific long-form content, such as white papers, to build thought leadership and generate more qualified leads.

Apotheke Co. (apothekeco.com) is a beloved Brooklyn-based luxury lifestyle fragrance brand. Since 2011, the team has grown to offer an array of products, including candles, reed diffusers, soap, lotion, home accessories, and more.

Not only does Apotheke make it easy to shop their curated roster of products online, but they’re committed to ethical manufacturing processes, sustainably sourced ingredients, reducing environmental impacts, and giving back through partnerships with multiple nonprofits and donation centers. 

The Challenge:

In addition to helping with paid search efforts, Apotheke was looking for a partner that would drive a social strategy – not just implement social ads. 

As an elevated, luxury brand in a competitive space, they knew it was vital for them to find a partner that understood how to position their products to their audiences. They also made it a top priority to focus on acquiring new customers while also retaining brand loyalists.

The Solution:

After digging into their current strategies and plans, the HawkSEM team got to work on expanding Apotheke’s efforts. We expanded the brand’s reach by implementing social shopping, resulting in hundreds of purchases through Meta Shops (Facebook and Instagram’s parent company).

From there, we expanded into social formats that humanized the brand. We worked with influencers who unboxed products, described the fragrances, and showed it in a home and lifestyle setting. This helps compel users to buy while differentiating Apotheke from competitors.

Lastly, we increased year-over-year return on ad spend (ROAS) while shifting away from always-on sales and offer codes. This opened the door for more high-intent audiences in the market for luxury goods.
